Clean the RSRelay ground connection mentioned in the 2 links below. Mine (940 NA) is behind the right headlight on the inner fender wall. I had very similar symptoms about 2 years ago, which I made into this GEEZER PUZZLED post.

P.S. There's also the possibility your fuel pump may be near the end, if it's the original one and mileage is up near or over 200K.
