I'm guessing there are not all that many Dodges or Plymouths on the road of the age of the average 240 owned by our fellow BB folks. Corrosion occurs over time. The only two (purchased new) Chrysler products I've owned went to the used car lot (and probably not very long after, the JY) because of a host of mechanical and electrical problems...like $3000 for a reman transmission 900mi from home.

They didn't rust and electrical grounds didn't fail due to corrosion - there wasn't time for that. They just kept having failures of expensive parts at unacceptably low mileage.
