Shift Lock Problem 200 1992

Easy to do checks in addition to the others you have done.
1. Check the alignment of the shifter to the neutral safety switch (NSS). Remove the two screws that secure the trim cover surrounding the shifter and lift up the cover. Examine from passenger side. I think the marks are N (neutral) and P (Park). Move shifter to check the alignment. Adjust as necessary.

2. Clean the NSS. You'll have to remove it. The metal cover has tabs that can be bent allowing it to separate from the plastic base. Clean contacts appropriately.
