Springs can wear out under extreme conditions. When I started out in the repair business I was a helper at an MB dealer. We replaced left side springs on a 2 year old car with a near 600 lb driver. The car will sag when the springs wear out. Not all sagging is due to worn springs-other causes can be collapsing spring perches (front struts) and worn bushings (rear trailing arm) as examples. -- Dave
