87-740 oil separator. Any sealant needed on o-ring? Other issues. 700 1987

Also what else could cause increased crankcase pressure. The
separator appeared to be clear. Cleaned it anyway.
There is some crude down in the oil return passageway in the block, but its open.
Im considering running some engine flush through there.
What else should I check.
Theres oil on the valve cover, the engine is using a bit to much oil, and I found oil around the threads on spark plug #1, and 2.
I dont think its related but coolant is being pushed from the reservoir at the lip. Im thinking that has to do with a faulty reservoir or faulty reservoir cap(which has beeen replaced), but I thought Id mention it here because Im not absolutely certain.
The engine is over 250,000miles now, but still running very well.

Thanks brickboard.

Larue
