Is this the ignition switch? 200 1986

So i bought my 1986 volvo 240 DL at auction a couple years ago and for the price i got it for it has been a great car. Recently i replaced the starter because it engaged while i was driving and got fried. I thought that fixed the problem but then the battery died so i went out and got it swapped. Now this is the part that makes me think it's the ignition switch, with the new battery in i put the key in the ignition and the door chime started going off but ever since i had owned this car i have never heard that chime. This time when i tryed to crank over the engine it started but, while the engine was running, they starter kept cranking trying to kick over the engine again and again so i turned the key to the off position and the car kept doing the same thing, then i actually removed the key from the ignition and the car continued to try and turn over while running. I managed to turn it off by putting the key back in the ignition and turning it again to the start position which turned it off. Today i tryed to start it again and there was no response like the battery was dead but the battery is brand new and all the instruments came on no problem. Any feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
