Yeah, I thought about that, but didn't let that dissuade my thinking. I don't have a good answer, but whenever I've had severe hesitation (such as from fouled plugs) the revs seem to back off a bit before recovering. Otherwise his symptoms are spot on to the Volvo-forums.com thread. Thankfully the person with the problem was courteous enough to come back and post the solution -I wish we had more of that here.
