My alarm for my 92 960 (On Guard theft deterrence VOLVO alarm system) has malfunctioned for the past several months. When I open a door the hazards begin flashing, but when I turn the key to deactivate it (one of 2 ways) well you guessed it, the lights just keep flashing for about 10 min, then eventually stop as I'm driving down the road. Usually just in time for me to get out of the car and start the whole process over again. I might add the pattern of the flashing is "flash-flash, pause 4-5 seconds then flash-flash, with corresponding clicks to the flashing and interval clicks during the pause. The interior module also changed in that diodes 1 & 2 are continually lit. They wont flash as they did before, they wont shut off. This new pattern just spontaneously occurred one day after the alarm was triggered and left to run until it shut itself off many minutes later. The normal pattern was flash flash flash and so on like the normal hazards would be. I did disconnect the horns months before that because I was tired of the horn blasting every time I opened a door. You see... I don't like using those little remotes, I prefer just using the key. I have tried altering the functions but the buttons to the interior module dont seem to be responding. I have read in other posts here that fuse 14 disables another persons alarm but Im pretty sure I've tried that and to no avail. So if anyone has any ideas how to change, reset, alter, or heck even disable it, I'd like to know. Gee I'd even disconnect the power to it and forget about the alarm altogether...its a 92 960 wagon...I don't think anyone's going to steal it for goodness sake. And if they do, well... Enjoy.
