1990 No Start - Flashing OBD 200

Howdy,

1990 245, 255,000 on the clock. Periodic no-start, rough idle, loss of power. CEL would go on and then disappear when you increased the RPM's. OBD unit showed 1-1-1 for the ignition side and rapidly flashing when testing the fuel side. When it wouldn't start, the CEL would not show on the dash (?) Removing the negative battery cable for a minute or two would result in the car starting.

I started with the basics and found that there was no "click" with the TPS, so I replaced it with a known good spare. It appears to have solved the problem. Took it for a test drive and power has returned and I was unable to duplicate the no-start.

I'm happy, but looking over my shoulder and worrying about the ECU (0280000933) and wondering if I should replace it with a more robust unit. I know that some of the 740 ECU's will perform better.

Any tips are much appreciated..
