Vent Window -- Dumb Question 140-160

On my '71 142S, the driver's side vent window pivot came unglued. (Pivot? Not the latch, but the upper window attachment. Anyway, the glass came unglued from the metal.) I can keep it locked and keep the water out, but that means I can't use the vent window. Any suggestions on how to fix this well? Does the window have to come out, or can I try to glue it in place? Any more permanent solutions other than gluing?

Thanks!
