HELP PLEASE 81 coupe has a strange running problem 200 1981

Hello I have a 81 Coupe that has been sitting several years, it starts up great and runs a few seconds good then steadly barely runs , well while starting it this way many many times , it suddenly was running great let it run about 2 mintues until I saw a huge puddle of gas in driveway , it was leaking from split hose from old repair splice {done when replacing the in tank pump} to the gas line above the driverside rear wheel. So I shut it off and put a new hose to the top of the tank, after replacing it the good running is gone and is back running like before the gas leak.its very weird!! Any help greatly appreciated Thanks alot Roady
