My 82 240DL will increase speed without any increase in gas feed also upon start up it will rev at high rpm without touching the gas (not when cold). I can shut it off and the next time it will be normal. I have checked the vacuum hoses and the accelerator cable for sticking with no apparent problem. Occasionally when high revving I can punch the gas and it will come down to normal
