Rotor Turning 900

I know the recommendation is against turning rotors, but ...

My rear rotors look good except rusty where a frozen caliper piston prevents the pad from "dressing" the flat surface of the metal.

I've read the FAQs on rotor thickness and reviewed the table provided, but try as I might, I cannot interpret the accompanying narrative which attempts to explain whether the listed minimums are millimeters or standard.

To make the question simple, my rear rotors show a thickness of .38. What is a minimum thickness I can live with. We are not hill climbing or descending mountains, or riding through the dessert at 90 MPH. All the driving on our 940's is grandmotherly stuff like 65 highway max, and local city traffic.

Turned rotor: $15. New from FCP Groton: $27.

Its not the money. Just seems a waste to add a good rotor (if it is) to the waste stream.
