Thinking about getting a 240 wagon again... am I crazy? 200

Hi all,
I owned a 240 wagon up to 3 years ago. I had bought it with over 300,000 kms and it just got too worn out, rust was slowly eating its way through it, and I lost confidence in it. Sold it and a whole bunch of 240 parts to someone who was quite pleased to add it to his Volvo stable.

After that, I bought a 96 Camry wagon which was very good to me for 3 years (comfortable, reliable), until the head gasket went on it and I had to get rid of it. There were other issues and I didn't want to spend any more money on it. It went off to the shredder...

I really like the practicality of the station wagon, and liked the RWD and no-fuss aspects of the 240. So I'm thinking of trying to find a nice one and getting back into a brick. My GF will think I'm crazy to be thinking of getting back to a late 80's early 90's swedish brick! I wish there were good current alternatives in that price range, but I can't see too many out there. Thought of a Subaru wagon but the reliability doesn't seem to be there. Honda CRV's are practical but pricey as heck. And I can't rationalize getting into a newer Volvo wagon, with the horrible user feedback I see all over the place. I like being able to figure out and fix the car myself, and the 240 was simple enough for me to do so. I still have all my service manuals and parts lists.

I see that 240's in general are rarer and in poorer conditions on the used car sites, than 3-4 years ago. Obviously, there must be fewer and fewer nice specimens left.

Appreciate any thoughts/advice. Thanks.
