new owner of '85 245DL wagon 200

I just bought an '85 245 DL wagon, white with tan leather interior, and I love this car; however, I see I have a new hobby. I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations for a lot of things. (I'm a new member of the forum, so I apologizd if I ask a lot of questions that everyone else already knows the answers to!)

1. Can someone recommend a mechanic in the Orange County, CA area who can check this car out completely for me for a reasonable price? (The only mechanical issue as of now is a small shimmy at freeway speeds (65+ mph). What all should be looked at carefully? I only have a few of the service records: new catalytic converter (2010)and new right inner tie rod (2007). From appearances, belts and alternator are new. Again, it runs great, but I want to make sure it's going to be reliable as a daily driver.

2. Which brand of repair manual and car cover (for outdoors) do you all recommend?

3. I hope to replace/restore some things: top dash (cracked), driver's seat cover is badly torn, and I'd like to find an original radio. Any suggestions?

4. Last, but important - there's a 2-inch patch of rust at the lower rear corner of the left rear window. What could be done to stop the rust and repair the area? Any product recommendations or surgery?

Thanks for any and all suggestions. JKKM
