940 fuel pump- update and question 900

I've had the new in tank fuel pump in for a while now on this Regina system car. The vehicle runs great now and I truly appreciate all of your help. Your advice and instructions made all the difference in the world in making this a more "pain free" swap out.
One question I do have however, I notice that now whenever I stop for gas and unscrew the fuel filler cap that there's a substantial amount of vacuum. I'm
a little perplexed on why this is the case. I did use new hose clamps on the filler hose, the vent hose and the return line. All are reconnected properly. I don't see how those changes would make a difference. The old rusty clamps were rusty but tight. Seems the return line and vent would equalize any suction on the tank that the new pump might pull.
Any ideas?
