clean plastic headlights with german simichrome polish? 200

Greetings:
This pm I used part of a very small tube of german simichrome polish - $11 delivered from Amazon - to polish aluminum head on 1996 mazda 626, then on whim I put small amount on paper towel wiping rag. It seemed to polish plastic headlight right up, no drill, or buffer, or complex effort. I'm going to examine more closely tomorrow, and then see if it holds up. Anyone else try this?
