Fuel Pressure? 200

Leaving work tonight my faithful 85 240DL suddenly after pulling out in the street lost power, started bucking and backfiring in the intake. Pulled over and got out, it refused to go above 1300rpm. Temp came up unusually quickly but not overly high. Lean mix? Discon the O2 sensor, no effect. Did same with MAFS. No change. Resigned to going home via AAA. Moved car to lot shut off. Called AAA. Waited for wrecker. Restarted to reposition, and it ran fine. Didn't trust it so took tow home. Runs fine in garage. Cursed intermittent bug! Suspecting 10 yr old fuel pumps, one failed or went weak causing fuel starvation. Not sure how to verify. Suggestions or opinions? Car has run fantastically for last 2-3 years since new O2 sensor.
