Seat cushion removal 900

This question is not about removing the seat from the car. I've done that several times and its an easy job except for the weight and awkward demands of the seat.

I have the entire seat (driver's side) on my work bench and I've been examining it so that I can bring the cushion to an auto upholtery shop nearby to have it redone. Right not the seat has a 10 inch long rip and the foam rubber is deteriorating. The back of the seat also has a rip and depending on how difficult I would probably do that, too.

I've been studying the seat. It is an amazingly complet piece of equipment to view from the bottom. But, I've been wondering if removal of the cushion may be a simpler task that it appears. There are two steel flat rods that have tab endings hooked into the side frame of the seat. If those are popped out ... is that all that's holding the cushion in place.

How do I take the cushion out?

The other part of the question is, how do I get the rear of the seat separated so I can bring it to the upholsterer.

Finally, the lumbar know turns freely, so either its broken or the cable is broken.
