Front end noise and weirdness 200 1992

Hello all,
My 1992 240 wagon with 217k on the clock has an odd issue I can't seem to track down. When I first purchased the car there was a hammering noise from the front end that I tracked down to the ball joints. After replacement all is well until recently. A very similiar noise if not the same noise is back, but ball joins are still solid. I even changed the left one again even though it wasn't bad, noise persists. Also at certain speeds I have wheel whobble and vibration I can feel in the steering wheel. I have greased and adjusted the wheel bearings, changed the ball joint on the left side, noise is here when a bump is hit, checked tie rods, all is tight, no play in the joints, and replaced the sway bar links. I'm at a loss. I don't know where this noise and slop is coming from.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Chuck Jaxel.
