B18 engine backfire mystery 444-544

"Strob ign timing is right on" ----is the advance working properly? Ignition in the cylinder takes X amount of time--whether the engine is at idle speed or 5,000 rpm---that's why the process needs to start earlier (advance) at high speed. Other causes for back fire--ignition wires, cap and rotor--cam timing--lean mixture condition. -- Dave
