lost power to starter 200 1984

Hi all-new to this so pleeeeeaaase help!
My 1984 240 has two problems but I will present one at a time.
Every now and then as I am driving along I glance at the instruments as I do and notice that both the fuel gauge and the temp gauge needles go back to zero-nothing else happens-the car keeps running perfectly but the needles stay on zero.
Then: If I stop the engine and try to start the car again-the starter just barely turns the engine over-just like a nearly flat battery and the car won't start.
I call roadside assistance- they put jumper leads on the battery-and the car starts perfectly-and keeps starting perfectly for perhaps weeks until....well need I repeat myself.
I have had the battery tested-fine. It happened today and it was raining if that is any help.
