240 doesn't like moist conditions 200 1984

Whenever my car sits around during moist conditions - such as rain or when the humidity is very high - it sputters under load for the first few minutes until everything warms up. After that, it purrs like a cat. I say "under load" because it doesn't sputter when the engine is revved while in neutral, but gets grumpy once I engage the tranny.

Any suggestions?

(Sorry if this is a common complaint - please point me to a thread if this has already been discussed.)
