Raccoon Story

Son parked his 95 940 and went to Russia for five weeks for graduate research. On returning, he found the speedo, the ABS and the cruise control did not work and he has a small gas drip from around the tank. He is driving to Ames from Chapel Hill and has nursed the car along. From his description, it appears that a raccoon took up residence up near the fuel tank and chewed up some stuff including the sensor wire (hanging loose and looking gnawed) and a fuel hose or rubber connector. The leak is not enough to keep him off the road, but I told him not to fill with more than about six gallons at a time to minimize leakage. He arrives Monday and it will be interesting to find out how much damage was done. It is all repairable but frustrating nonetheless especially since he has babied this car from inception and it is in superb shape. Full account will follow.
