weird a/c, heater fan fail.. 700 1992

Just got back from 800+ mile trip from NY to Va beach and back turning 249k on the way south and about to crank 250k... My a/c clutch began making a slight metallic sound in Va but was still functioning.. Got near Newark NJ on the way home yesterday and suddenly lost my cool, of course it was 92 degrees by then, checked it out when I got home and the a/c comp clutch seems to have failed but the heater blower motor fuse #16 blew also, changed the fuse and still no blower activity. Checked the faq's and didn't really see this type failure noted, any and all ideas/suggestions to fix this are greatly appreciated... TIA, Tom 27940aholic
