A/C question... 200

Morning all!

About a month ago I successfully recharged my 89' A/C system and am currently getting 41 degree air out of the vent! YeeHaw!

My question is that I haven't yet placed the 'duct seal' compound around the hoses that comes into and exit the evaporator/expansion valve area as I wanted to make sure I didn't have any type of leak. I did sniff for leaks after it was charged, and found none, but I just wanted to make sure.

So, should I just put the duct seal compound there or should I put some sore of A/C refrigerant wrap around the pipes after the duct seal so as to get a better heat transfer across the evaporator? How much efficiency am I losing by not doing anything?

Any ways, there you have it. Looking forward to your replies.

Regards,

Matt
