Coolant choice for my 84 244 aluminum rad 200 1984

I'm interested in replacing the coolant in my 84 244.

I replaced the thermostat and noticed significant (but superficial) corrosion on the thermostat housing and where it contacts the head.

Someone at napa, whose info I always double check, mentioned something about phosphates and silicates.
I recall seeing issues reported with using dex-cool, but not what they were or if they were valid.

Can someone bring me up to speed please?
