What would cause a bent spark plug tip at the connection? 120-130

"You don't say which cylinder this plug comes from but if it is the most awkward one to get to on your car I'd say that the plug spanner/socket you're using tends to slip at the point that the plug comes loose."

Agreed - and I'm betting on #4 under normal circumstances, or #1 if an A/C compressor is mounted.

Your comments are spot on WRT wrenching tool. I remove and replace plugs 20-25 times a year (no... I'm not putting new ones in every time!) on the race car, and I didn't break a plug using my old spark plug socket, in which the internal rubber had fallen out years ago. So I bought a new socket, with fresh rubber inside and broke the ceramic on a plug the second time I used it! I'm back to using the old piece. :)
