M47 5th to 4th downshift trouble 200 1987

I just drove my 240 with a newly installed pick n pull m47 about 900 Miles yesterday. This gave me a chance to get nicely acquainted... The big issue that I have is that it was almost impossible to downshift directly from 5th gear to 4th, as it would not seem to sync up properly, and almost every time I tired to, I couldn't find the gear, and it would grind a little. I ended up pulling it out of 5th and first putting it into 3rd (with the clutch in) and then to 4th just to make a downshift. This worked fine, except it takes a long time, and when I need a quick downshift in the mountains to get up the hills, I lost a lot of speed. I also tried to double clutch, but it didn't help much. I haven't had any problems getting it in 4th during normal shifting from 3rd.

Any ideas on what is causing this to happen? The thought of pulling the transmission again is quite depressing, but I might have to...
