oil seperator 200 1990

I have just replaced the entire PCV system. Including the hose that goes into the oil pan. (yes that was a 30 hour job)

Even with a brand new oil separator; the motor is still hemorrhaging oil back into the intake. i.e. pull the Mass Air and the bottom of the intake hose has standing oil.

Is there something I was supposed to do to activate the oil separator?
