Caliper Dust Boot

Hi Bob,

I have 2 bricks that use the Girling ABS front binders. I lube the sliders twice a year (spring and fall)but I live where they put stupid amounts of salt on the roads. I can run through my brakes in about an hour if all I need to do is lube and clean.

I was hunting for dust boots also but haven't found any. I have fixed sticking pistons numerous times before by just pulling the piston and cleaning the rust ridge that develops at the top of the piston bore.

With the salt I wouldn't dream of not using the boots. I think the heat from the brakes would evaporate any water on the pucks but the variables of how much the brakes were used, how much water, rain when the car is sitting is too hard to figure so I personally would install dustboots.

good luck
