Early 240 style rocker switch, "rear window lifts'. What does it do? 200

Came across this strange early 240 style rocker button. It is labeled "rear window lifts", and appears to be a 3 position rocker, but is labeled on/off, suggesting it may only be 2 position. Looks similar to the front power window buttons on 240's before the buttons appeared in the doors, but is labelled distinctly different. Anyone know what this thing is supposed to do?
