intermittent starting 200 1990

I am challenged by an intermittent engine no-start/no-crank problem. Seems to be a correlation to recovery time (back to normal after a wait) and recovery temperature (back to normal after getting close to ambient) of solenoid. No restart/crank after parking car 20 minutes following a drive (typical shopping trip), just dash lights will illuminate. I hear fuel pumps. After appropriate time to cool, car will start.

Starter/solenoid was replaced in February (when seasonal temperatures are low). Frequency of occurrence has increased with increase in seasonal temperatures, if this is at all relevant.

So, I'm poring over Bentley to get a grip on the circuit and how it works.

Shop that did replacement suggests it is not the starter/solenoid, but a "connection" that is overheating. (Wow?!) Would one possible connector be the "Bridge Connector" (#112 / B2 for '90 model yr). Where is this connector located? What does it look like?

Bentley refers to a "Reverse Light Switch" (#24). I'm thinking that this is the shift inhibitor.

So, let me be up front that this problem is with a '90 760 GLT. I have no diagrams for this car. I'm translating '90 240 to the 760 since I am freely making references to Bentley assuming the two are quite similar with this circuit. I can tell that wire colors are different.

For the fun of Volvos,
Mike
