Cleaning Cloth Interior? 200

As I posted earlier, I just picked up another 240 Wagon. It has a rather nice (i.e., no tears, rips or missing plastic) blue cloth interior, but the front seat bottoms do need a good cleaning.

The last time I detailed an interior, I removed the seat coverings and threw them into the washing machine with some Castrol Superclean (purple stuff that will eventually eat your skin); they ended up looking like new, but it was alot of work.

Can anyone recommend an interior cleaner which will work with the seat covers left on the seats?

I've never had much success with interior shampoos - I'm thinking that the rinsing might be more important than the scrubbing, since there always seemed to be a residue left after I shampooed an interior.

Thanks, one and all,

Rich
