corrected reply-thanks eric. 140-160 1974

Thanks for the replies. So I need to use a coil that needs external resistance and I need a starter that has terminal 16 to provide 12 volts when cranking, correct? The coil I have is from my 85 non turbo 240 and I don't think I have seen a ballast resistor anywhere on that car.

If I were to use a different coil that didn't need the resistor would the harness from the 75 need to be modified in order to bypass the resistor? Would it be as easy as jumping the blue wires together?

Also, the car is no longer fuel injected.
