'89 240 bumper material 200 1989

I wonder if there is a way to Verify that the bumpers from my retired (312k mi) 240 are indeed made of aluminum. The fella at the scrap yard would not believe me and told me they are a "pot metal". Thanks for the help, as always. They the rear has damage around the mount holes. The front one is fine. If someone wants it, let me know.
By the way, Here is a link to some good 240 clearance stuff at a popular online source:
http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeeds.php?carcode=1287097&m=wc&l=en&html=true
They send me an email occasionally with their clearanced 240 stuff. Hope it helps out someone.
