Is this "plastic surgery' even possible? 200 1986

I'm really liking the way the mid ('73-'75) 164 front end looks and now have it in my mind if I get a front clip (hood, fenders, grille, bumbers and front bumper mounted turn signals, while I'm doing my engine transplant on my '86 sedan, I could have it apart and do the bodywork. Overall dimensions seem to be real close, so am I looking at a pipe dream or something that is doable? Any suggestions and input would be appreciated.
