P1800 Hood Ornament fix 1800

I've got the original hood ornament on my P1800. The black in-lay has weathered and popped out. Any known tricks to push a black in-lay material back into the ornament so that the chrome Volvo emblem pops out more? Thanks for any ideas the community has.
