Trying a FWD

my sister has a 1st gen s40. Those cars were sold longer--and sold better--in Europe, and there was an English-language board based in the UK that proved helpful to me trying to track down problems she was having with the headlight wiring. It's worth seeking out alternatives to the brickboard on this.

But there's nothing like the depth of knowledge for those cars on ANY forum like there is here for the RWD.

Good luck. They're fun little cars (too little for me).
