Mystery (to me) dying problem 200 1991

Hey All - My '91 sedan has begun doing something a little weird. When the engine's cold, it starts and runs fine, although I believe my gas mileage is not optimum. But when it's warm, and I restart the engine, it easily starts but dies while I'm putting it in gear.

To remedy this, I've been putting my left foot on the brake pedal while revving the engine slightly, then putting it in gear. Once I get rolling, the problem doesn't exist. I can stop and go, no problem.

I am considering letting a friend borrow it for a few days, but not unless I can get to the bottom of this current glitch. I have also checked for hose vacuum leaks and haven't found problems there. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.

Jim
