Could be the RSRelay 700 1991

Good job of eliminating the CPS as a suspect. Next on my list would be the Radio (noise) Suppression Relay (RSR). For some reason, on turbo cars the RSR controls voltage to the injectors AND the Ignition coil. On non-turbos it's just the injectors. So a flakey RSR (or it's coil ground connection) could be your culprit.

The easiest test is to locate the RSR (it may be identical to the Fan Control relay on the '91). Then unplug the connector and install a temporary jumper to connect the two larger wires, which are RED and GREEN-RED.

If that restores the spark, it's a bad relay or relay ground on the inner fender behind the left headlight.
