is the ac killing my alternator 900

I have a '93 940. I replaced the battery 10 weeks ago. It seemed to solve a continuing battery drain problem. Alas, a couple of weeks later the car went down for the fifth time since I bought it in January. My mechanic found a relay on the alternator. He took it off and the car seemed to be ok. Two weeks ago the alternator stopped working but the car still started because of the new battery. I took it to another mechanic who tested the alternator and said it was not working. I reluctantly has it replaced. Three days later, car will start but alternator was not charging. I took it back. Mechanic says car starts. That was not the problem. I have noticed that the alternator works sometime and sometime it does not. Like today,it worked when I went to work but two hours later it did not. I have noticed that it seems to go down after I run the ac.

Also, when I cut off car, I see a blinking light behind the CD button. I don't think this is suppose to happen.

HELP!! This darn car is driving me batty. I am ready to sell it.Any takers?
