A/T-flush or not? Cooler? 200 1989

‘89 245 DL wagon, 230k--A/T fluid has slight burn smell-not too bad, a little brown, not thick or 'sludgy', considering full trans flush. Trans functions perfect. I’ve had different opinions-Some say leave it alone, some say go for it-others say do partial change of fluid. One said leave it alone BUT add a cooler,< that sounds kind of OK, BUT where do you get this cooler and what does it take to install it? Thanks.
