91 240 - Low Idling Issue

Hello,

My 91 240 automatic has had a low-idling issue for years now. When it first started happening, the oil light would flicker when I came to a stop and the car would stall out. My solution to this was to drive with two feet and to keep giving it some gas to keep it from stalling when stopped. The error code it kicks out is the air-fuel mix too rich/too lean. Over the years it has stopped stalling and now I just get a flickering or solid oil light whenever the car is warmed up and idling. As soon as I give it gas, the light goes off.

I'm assuming the ECU is compensating for whatever might be wrong. There is no fuel or oil leaks. We've replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel check valve, swapped the IAC with a used one, cleaned the AMM, replaced the oil separator and flame trap, and I cleaned the throttle body.

I don't think this is an oil pump issue since it's been going on for five years or more. Wouldn't something catastrophic have happened by now? I am not sure if it could be the oil sender unit or not since it is so consistent. The wires look clean.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this to happen? The car has approx 237,000 miles now.

Thank you,
Susie
