Should I sell my 740 for scrap or double down? 700

Howdy,
Picked up a 91 740 wagon, 195 on the clock,
picked it up on the cheap knowing if it was really bad I could get most of
my money back via scrap, the guy I bought it from had it for ten years and only drives volvos but the 740 had been sitting for a bit, I had a 740 wagon years back and it served me well. Of course I knew I would have to drop money on it, I figured a grand would get me going. I took it to my guy and he
said it needs lots of work, front pipe, rad fan, rear engine leak, misfire, maybe lines etc....Keep in mind I drove this car and outside of the exhaust and slight shimmy when steering it drove great, am I crazy to think about dropping 1500 to 2000 or so in this to get it up to par,
the body is ok, two doors are rotted on the bottom but I have good replacements for them, that I picked up at a boneyard also on the cheap, same color.
Do I put that type of money into this 740 with about 200K on it that is twenty years old?
It does have the rear seat too which is a big plus.
Any thoughts would be great, I need to make the call soon.
Thanks in advance!
