OD question 700

I had the same problem on a 93 940. Seemed to get worse as time went on, maybe 3 months. Finally it started shifting on its own when my wife drove it. I just knew it was the button switch and I really did not feel like removing the shifter and cleaning or replacing the button.

I was armed with a Lucid (I think) relay replacement jumper, everything will work except the the downshift button.

I pulled the relay but could not find any discolored solder joints so I resoldered them all. BTW, upon closer look, the only solder joint that may have been suspect was the same one shown in the FAQ. It worked again.
