Have to pull timing gear to check camshaft thrust assembly...there is a horrible clatter coming from there at idle, that dissapates when engine is revved. Is the gear/camshaft bore straight or tapered? Need to know how much gear puller I'm going to need...small/big...light/hefty... engine rebuilt a year ago...less than 3000 on it now...

Thinking missing thrust spacer, or worn retainer plate reused by shade tree engine builder...
