73 1800 valve noise? 1800 1973

Hello all, my 73 1800es is now resurrected. It runs nice and smooth. However it makes a good amount of noise. The mechanic thinks it's the valves that are kind of sticking because of the amount of time it sat (5 years). He said it'll go away. And it also smokes, light grey with a tint of blue. Maybe the rings need to be freed up too? I changed the oil and substituted one quart for mystery oil. As well as a fuel treatment (Lucas upper cylinder lubricant). I'm thinking of throwing some mystery oil in the spark plug holes for the weekend. Followed by a valve adjustment. Hopefully I'm on the right track, what do you guys think?
