Wiring around "Memory' unit on driver seat? 900

Mates:
With the help of tips from brickboarders, I got the front seats swapped out of the '92 965 and into the '96 965, with little bloodshed and no airbag explosions.
The electricals were working in the seats on both case before the swap.
The connectors were all physically and visually compatible.
After swap, the '92 passenger seat works well hooked up in the '96.
After swap, the '92 driver seat does not work at all hooked up in the '96.

Hypothesis:
Since the '92 driver seat has a "memory" set-up, but the original '96 did not, I think it likely that the problem is in the memory unit(hereafter, "black box").

Memory is not necessary in the '96--it's a one-driver car.
Can one merely yank out all the connectors to the black box, and wire around it so it mirrors the seat controls on the passenger side?
Should one instead disconnect only certain connections to and from the black box?
Does anyone who's done this have a pre-and-post-surgery pair of wiring diagrams or other instructions for the operation?

P.S. While reading through some prior posts re seat heaters in prep for another stage of the swap, I noted at least one which indicated that this could be a factor: FWIW, the '96 was a Florida vehicle, and came without seat heaters or switches for same. The '92 has leather seats with seat heaters. Oddly enough, on hooking up to the passenger side wiring, I had one connector on the seat left over and three connected, but on the driver side all four connectors were there and are hooked up. Does this make any difference on the driver seat controls?
What will I need to change / add when I hook up the '92 seat heaters? TIA again.
