Part Source for wagon tail lamps? 200

I have a 1990 245 and I replaced my tail light fixtures with a pair from from an Ebay seller. All was well for a while (six or eight months IIRC) then the bulb failure light started coming on.

I discovered the brake/running light positions on both sides were distorted to the point of losing contact with the lamp socket. Heat, being the culprit here. The tail lights were connected properly. To their credit they replaced both sides. When I installed the replacements I went with L.E.D 1157 replacement lamps. That eliminated the heat problem. The fixtures themselves have had no problems, nor have L.E.D lamps. This has been over a year of use.

This type failure is common with the aftermarket replacements. Even from a Volvo dealer that sells parts online, you are looking at $170.00 (with no shipping) or so, for one side. For me the aftermarkets with the L.E.D's are the way to go.

Good luck with the move.
